Salary: £30,000 p/a

Hours: 37 hours/week (full-time). We may consider a reduced-hour arrangement at an enhanced rate for an exceptional candidate, subject to the requirements of the role.

Carlisle communities have shown incredible strength during major floods and the pandemic. This role strengthens preparedness and resilience across neighbourhoods.

What you’ll do

  • Lead development of the Carlisle City Community Resilience Plan.

  • Support and engage communities using a development-based approach, with a focus on vulnerable communities.

  • Build partnerships and coordinate preparedness, mitigation and response across Carlisle.

  • Collaborate with flood resilience teams and share policy updates and funding opportunities.

  • Deliver community training, share best practice and support incident response.

About you

  • Passionate about community-led approaches and building local resilience.

  • Degree-level qualification or strong community development experience.

  • Strong understanding of Carlisle communities.

  • Project management experience.

  • Strong communication and partnership skills.

  • Understanding equality, diversity and inclusion.

  • Leadership and analytical skills.

Selection Process

As part of the selection stage, candidates will give a brief presentation on how they would engage the local community in the resilience planning process.
